Where is my cloaked link?

Your cloaked link is a combination of your website plus the name of the page (Step 2) you created.

Use the cloaked link http://www.yourwebsite.com/cloakedpage.html of the page you uploaded to your website in place of http://www.affiliatelink.com/yourID when sending out links to people in your emails, website or wherever you let people know about a link so you can get paid!

For example http://www.yoursite.com/cloakedpage.html

This is the LINK you will put in your website and email messages to cloak the real link which is your affiliate link.

You will see the link your cloaked (http://www.yoursite.com/cloakedpage.html) in the browser's address bar.

<- "TECH" NOTE On CLICKBANK -> It's estimated there are over 100,000 active affiliate programs out on the net.

Some affiliate programs, like ClickBank, will occasionally change the mechanics of their systems.

Right now ClickBank will throw off the cloaked link once the surfer get to the affiliate's website, but by then your cookie and other tracking mechanisms are already set... so you're protected!

The "Upload" button is dead. What should I do?

Close the Affiliate Link Cloaker program by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner and then restart the Affiliate Link Cloaker program.

Re-enter the link you want to cloak, name it, create it and then upload it.

My page doesn't upload to my website, what should I do?

  • Click the upload button again to make sure you didn't have a momentary lapse in your Internet connection.

  • Check to make sure you have a live Internet connection to the web.

  • Make sure you have entered the correct FTP information into the Affiliate Link Cloaker - especially the folder where your web pages are stored.

  • Make sure the web server is up and running (check to see if your site comes up).

  • Try uploading the cloaked link page with your regular FTP program and see if that works. If it does, then something is configured wrong with the way your FTP information is set up in the Affiliate Link Cloaker.

    • Delete the FTP account you have set up in Step 5 of the Affiliate Link Cloaker and set it up again to make sure you have all the information entered correctly.

  • In rare instances the Affiliate Link Cloaker's FTP program in Step 5 is not compatible with some hosting services - but the cloaked links will still work just fine. Just use your regular FTP program to upload the cloaked pages instead of using the Affiliate Link Cloaker to upload.

I can't pull up the cloaked page I uploaded in my web browser, what should I do?

  • Upload the page again and verify that the Affiliate Link Cloaker tells you the page was uploaded successfully.

  • It is possible to upload the page, but to do so to the wrong folder and the page won't be displayed online in your web browser. Make sure that you are uploading to the correct folder on your hosting account that stores the web pages that get viewed on the Internet.

  • Log onto your web server with your FTP program and verify if and where the cloaked page got uploaded.

  • In rare instances the Affiliate Link Cloaker's FTP program in Step 5 is not compatible with some hosting services - but the cloaked links will still work just fine. Just use your regular FTP program to upload the cloaked pages instead of using the Affiliate Link Cloaker to upload.
